The traditional sofa is used by many. But there is an alternative that is often cheaper than sofas. Futon couches serve the same purpose as sofas, but with an addition. Futon couches are great places to sleep on too. You simply fold the couches for sitting and then open them up for sleeping.

Futon couches are full or queen size mattresses that sit on oak, pine, hardwood, metal or other types of frames. Traditionally, futon couches have been used in family rooms, but the design of futon couches has improved so much that people are using them in living rooms as well.
